>run out of warp cells
>can't fabricate or buy them
>need to do a quest that specifically gives you the blueprint
>end up stranded because i'm out of range

Now that I finally understand how everything works, it feels like a mobile game with pretty graphics

Pretty sure if you use the portal at the space station you can warp to another system and get the option to have the quest moved there or something

Lol, so many people are getting into No Man's Sky now because they want the Corvette's.

Too bad you have to put your hand in bullshit first.

yeah, corvettes look sick.

If you've unlocked the anomaly you can probably go unlock the blueprint there for nanites.
Although I don't know how you managed to not get the blueprint for them since it's part of the early tutorial

I wish I could just buy corvette parts, not have to excavate them and then trade for the things I actually want.
I did learn this though, when you run out of tech slots you have to upgrade your ship class to get more. But initially it'll seem like it hasn't given you any more, you'll just have the three rows. You need ship inventory upgrades in order to actually unlock those new slots. OR you just slap more modules onto it and it'll unlock the slots for you for free.

Does this game finally have a combat overhaul? I dont want to mine shit if I dont have something to use it on

why wouldn't you be able to fabricate them? they're one of the first items you are taught to make. are you just stuck on a planet that doesn't have the materials or something?

I have played this game 10 years ago and I'm playing it now again. How are the same bugs still in the game? What the fuck were they doing for 10 fucking years? The funniest shit is probably the freighter one, they literally added an extra button in the options menu instead of fixing the actual bug.

it's unreal how shit the 2 hours of tutorial can be.
i once found a crashed freighter out if sequence and got the warp drive on my way to the hermetic seal. that almost cut the tutorisl in half.
it should have a 'skip onboarding' like Satisfactory. plunk you down in the anomaly immediately with the main quests active, no base needed, just free to do whatever.

How do you guys grind Nanites? The dead space rip off freighters are still pretty slow.

Sometimes you can clip through the freighter and get stuck. An extra Reset Freighter button appears in the options menu when that happens. Happened to me like 5 times. I assume it has something to do with incorrectly loading npc-owned freighters.

The game will literally spawn silver meteroids the moment you begin to leak fuel.
Shut the fuck up, you are playing babies first space sim.

Two primary methods, one requires a bit of luck.
The less luck based one is using outlaw stations. Visit one, go to the black market trader and buy all the suspicious packets you can. Then open them and they'll give you upgrade modules (except the goods variant) which sell for like 300-400 nanites each.
The one you have to be a bit lucky for is finding a planet with either radiant crystals, curious deposits (I think that one doesn't show up on a planet scan) or both. Each radiant crystal gives you 50 nanites when refined, curious deposits give you thousands of runaway mould which converts to nanites at a 5:1 ratio.

I hate stuff like that, and I'm not a huge fan of the general art direction of the game, but it still mogs most space sims. That's more to do with the absolute state of space sims.

I played this game at release and had the same thoughts as everyone else and dumped it pretty quickly. Now that I am older and they did a bit of work on the game, I like it more because they got that good carrot on the stick gameplay loop and I always am getting distracted by trying to upgrade everything at once. I just wish the corvette was not so buggy. Every time I warp to a pirate station, it parks the corvette at the farthest possible spot and takes a minute of just running to get to it.

I miss when I could leave my corvette chair during the landing sequence...

No, it still sucks. You will shoot spongy sentinels that heal each other until you get annoyed with fighting them and hide in a hole and you will like it
