Yes. 2K changed their EULA to say that they're now allowed to install a rootkit on your device and collect personal info. It's being retroactively added to any older titles like BL1/2/3 that support the software. It also serves as anticheat so if GB ever feels like it they can ban you for any usage of mods, "cheats" and make it impossible for you to access the game in a VM. The EULA also added a forced arbitration clause so you're never allowed to sue 2K/Gearbox for anything ever again.

I like the game, the gameplay is fun and finding guns, the dark storylines that start silly and end up being about murder and cannibalism.
I will keep playing. I am pretty sure I am not even halfway.

Yes listening back to the "epic funny humour" now makes me cringe, but it came out 13 years ago so of course I and my sense of humour have changed. I also remember feeling that the time they they started going astray was with the BL2 expansions-not BL2 itself. When the game came out it was met with near universal acclaim. Most of the issues around it were endgame or ng+ balance issues, rather than anything else.

BL1 was great, it had a nice balance of humor and somber seriousness. It's atmosphere and music was great, voice acting and humor was original for the time. BL2 was a major disappointment to me that jumped the shark in almost every way. Somehow people thought handsome jack was a "good villain" and it made me lose faith in other humans actually having taste. BL3 was just more BL2 but casualized to hell and back so everything was too easy and drops were too easy to get.

Early access here (I do consulting, no, not that kind).

Game has definitely been a lot of fun. No memes or insufferable dialogue yet. Underbarrels are basically like spells from Tiny Tina. I don't wanna meme a "return to form" gag as it still has a lot of stuff BL2 people whine about but I would say it's worth a pickup for 40~60 pending your financials. Lotta neat games released today tho.

Invincible phases/mechanical boss fights too. The first boss for example is fully invincible unless you throw a stage item at him
