Honest answer: Before the remake started, the density of content was peak. Dozens of girls, content ranging from simple tit flashes to full on multi shot sex scenes. A story that was familiar enough to be cliche but not written by a russian with chatgpt. Add on top of that the mini games were just engaging enough while still being playable with one hand. Also the replayability of content, where once unlocked you could easily replay a particular favorite scene, ingame, without needing the gallery or save scumming.

it's kind of impressive how close the art style is to being decent. I can't even say specifically say what it is that's offputting. Mostly it's the faces, I think. Something about the ratios, some of the angular lines around the MC's cheek bones and some of the girls? It's not outright bad, I don't think, but it's not really that good either.
