How can a game that has been in development for SEVEN FUCKING YEARS still have garbage gimmicks that don't work?

It's beyond broken. I hit the exact directions at the exact right times and the button dead on and it still fails to register it as a diagonal dive.

got the hang of the new pogoing pretty quickly but it just isn't fun like in the first game
