I like Deltarune because of the schizo-theory potential. I’ve always loved conspiracies and the thought process behind them, even if they are shit tier.

Idk I just played 2 hours of silk and it's a very mediocre platformer that isnt that interesting to play to explore cause everything looks the fucking same. I had the same problem with hollow knight I have no idea why I thought this would be different. They're like games for people that dont like games.

What you're seeing here is HYPE manifest.
Deltarune thanks most of it success from being a pseudo-sequel to undertale, which is probably the most overrated indie game.
Toby Fox knows how to build anticipation with and cater to the Homestucklike fanbase that love spamming their shit everywhere. If you don't know Homestuck, then it's difficult to understand how these obsessive internet fanbases operate.

I don't know much of the specifics of the Hollow Knight fanbase, but they have been hyping the promised sequel so hard that they hallucinated an Alternate Reality Game.
Because the developers were mostly silent about development during these years and now made a surprise announcement, there's suddenly an explosion of attention.
