if silksong can do this, imagine what GTA 6 will do, even with a year pc delay
>>719812629
way way way more than that, you can always safely 5x launch CCU to get a rough estimate of copies sold

Why did so many people get it on Steam? Sad, it was the same price and a faster purchase and download on a DRM free platform

I dont understand how this game is so popular. Can someone fill me in on its gimmick as to why it is popular.
I know it is less that 1/2 the price of other games so cheap so lost of people would grab it straight away if they liked the first game.
Though why is it so liked. Just looks like a generic metrodvania platformer to me.

A simple and easy to use website that provides a quick download to the game once you purchase it, and not to mention said game is literally put on the first thing you put your eyes on when you open the store.
I'd say it's well worth the cut for them. I I hadn't opened /v/ I wouldn't have even known the game was out until I'd have booted up steam a few hours later.

Zoomers saw people jokingly asking about silksong during every shitty games conference and actually took it seriously, believing it to be some kind of masterpiece they just weren't aware of.

It's a game that runs on every PC, with a cheap price tag and that has been shilled for nearly a decade.

is the joke that gog also takes 30%
although i would've bought it on gog if i didn't like the convenience of steam when playing on my steam deck

Is it just bait that retards across the entire internet don't realize 30% is industry standard. Goddamn Tim Sweeney really is using his marketing budget for retarded shit.

Not very good at steam math. You do know it doesn't stay 30% all the way through? It decreases once you get past the $10m barrier. It also has a tier system where DLC and micotransactions also contribute to that count so they get a bigger cut of the sales as they go along.

He just mentioned ESG out of nowhere, simple as. At least gog gives you an installer and lets you play without their launcher.

i assumed he mentioned it because EGS is relevant to the """steam tax""" in that EGS afaik only takes a 12% cut instead of the industry standard 30%
