Online games should be in two categories: for kids, and 18+. Games for kids should be heavily monitored because they're kids. Games for adults should only moderate serious issues (e.g. cheating) and provide tools for the players to customize their experience (e.g. block, mute). That way kids are both kept safe, and kept the fuck away from real games

Any company has a responsibility toward its customers. You can't sell a phone that blows up and then tell the widow "he should have done his research better". If you're specifically targeting kids, you have a responsibility to go after groomers on your platform to keep said kids safe. What got us to where we are today isn't what I said, but rather the idea to treat everyone as kids regardless of age. If I cared about the game I'd be pissed too. If you have one game that starts with the ID requirement shit everyone else will do that too. And I'm sure as fuck not giving EVERYONE my fucking ID. In fact it makes it easier for groomers, because now people are not considered 13 by default anymore and if you have someone that is 17 they will have their social functions force unlocked and get to see the adult content on Roblox, as well as being exposed to groomers. Not only that, but the EU and US allow minors to be victim of targetted ads, so most of the players are not considered 13 by default anymore where this is not allowed, but instead they are considered adults for the purposes for corporate bullshit.
