they can say literally anything they want and never have to face consequences until they actually release hardware
>ps6 is going to run at 16k, 400fps, and have 1,000 terabytes of storage and ram combined! WHAT COULD THIS MEAN FOR THE INDUSTRY?
fucking words in a notepad doc don't mean shit to anyone except shareholders who are still mentally 9 years old

Video games are mass consumption products, and toys on top of that.
They need to be affordable so millions of people buy em.
Not many people will be buying a $1200 console, which means not many developers will make games for it because there's no profit to be made.

They can't sell a console with that much. Hope for 20/24gb at absolute most with a gpu equivalent to a 5060ti.
>>719820550
>be use at least 18gb vram
Even if it does who cares. PS5 is usually about 12gb dedicated to the gpu for most games, 4 and 6gb cards were fine 90% of this generation.

ue6 will use 16gb at 720p

Yes, unironically. Worse performance than base PS5 in handheld and slightly better when docked but worse than PS5 pro.

And either way data center demands should start slowing down sometime in the next 5ish years + pic related.

Why wouldn't it? When all 3 vendors are working on something you can probably be sure it's coming sooner than later.

If it's a scam like Raytracing and DLSS I'm totally fine with that.

>OMG NEXT GEN CONSOLE IS GONNA PUT CURRENT GEN PCs TO SHAME
1-2 years later after release its outclassed by mid range gaming PC that cost relatively the same if you consider PC does not have to pay for online multiplayer.
Spends the rest of its 5-6 year lifespan being under-powered and having the worse versions of games than PC. It gets so bad they sell you a Pro version just so it can at least play games at 60 fps.
And even the first 1-2 first years of release most of its games run on gaming PCs comparable to the last generation if you lower the resolution under 4K.
(My 8 year old gaming PC could run Ratchet and Clank PS5 port at 40-50 fps)
Every single fucking time.

>1-2 years later after release its outclassed by mid range gaming PC
PS5 was outclassed by a midrange pc from 2 years before it's release
It's going to be funny watching the meltdown and coping after it's revealed the gaystation 6 is either $1500 or has less raw performance than a ps5 pro (and therefore slower than a current low-mid range build)

What he said was true before the moore's law died and consoles had specific hardware.
The PS1 and PS2 absolutely trounced the PCs available for quite a while, specially if you consider cost/benefit.
You needed a $2000 computer to match a PS1, because you either needed a fast pentium CPU (166Mhz+) or a 3Dfx card (everything else was fucking garbage).

But moore's law died, and here we are, where you are right.

28gb of shared RAM, not dedicated vram
