All the the games I've played and enjoyed this year are games /v/ utterly loathes or isn't even aware they exist. The game I'm playing right now only got a couple threads that got shitposted to death.

I don't really understand why people want things to fail so much.
All the shitposting, we have people posting selective reviews only in the Chinese language because that's the review category that's doing the worst
We have people shitting on E33 because Silksong sold better
We have people trying to call Silksong a flop because it -only- sold 200k ..then 300k ..then 400k ..then 500k

I really don't understand this crab bucket attitude, they gain nothing from it because most of the figures they try to spin to make things look bad is just bullshit and they know it is.

That's why off-topic threads, especially about hobbies that are mutually exclusive with videogames like tabletop games or comic books, or threads outright denouncing videogames as a whole, always get 500+ replies of pure, shitposting-free discussion.

You simply don't talk about them.
I came to the conclusion that the reason videogame discussion in the internet is impossible is due to videogames being intended to be played, not talked about.
While the internet complements videogames with things like
- Online multiplayer
- Stores
- Guides, wikis and FAQs
- Sharing mods and abandonware
- Allowing piracy for the people who love the hobby but can't afford it
- Revealing and promoting new games
That's the extend of it. Discussion is something that is inherently incompatible with videogames.
