Capcom is one of the best developers in the industry right now and its amazing how they did a 180 because they used to be one of the worse.
Ever since they made RE and released that RE7 demo they have made hit after hit with only a few weak entries like REmake 3 and exoprimal.
I only really look forward to 2 gaming events in a year and one of them is the capcom events. Other being the sony events.

I know what the gameplay is and it is not my type of game. I played contra as a kid and liked metal slug but idc for MM.
I didnt even play cuphead despite that I love the aesthetics.
Dynamite heady is the only side scrolling run and gun like games I like.

MM is a dead IP because the gameplay is stale. Nobody plays run and guns any more.
If they gave MM the nu GoW treatment and made it something like a TPS with metroid like power ups, that would bring the IP into relevance but then OG fans would probably dislike it, Despite that is what it needs as side scrolling shit is archaic.

Mega Man and Dynamite Heady aren't run and gun games, you retard. Not every game where you shoot and jump is a run and gun because then Super Mario Bros would be one. A run and game is defined more for its focus on shooting and overall gunplay rather than complex platforming, so games like Contra, Cuphead, and Metal Slug fit the genre description. Mega Man, despite hosting multiple weapons, is focused more on platforming with levels have their own platforming gimmicks. Play more fucking video games.

they did pretty much yearly MH games for the last 20 years, just most people didn't notice until World came out.

i started with Tri, didn't like it at first, gave 3 Ultimate a try to give the series a second chance and play everything ever since, still was fucking impossible to get anyone else to play the games back then though so i struggled with G-rank content since i usually had to solo.

Yeah when they have a relatively small amount of IPs and the IP is close to 4 decades old.
Just briefing over they have 19 IPs on this site and 9 of them (10 including MM but last game was 7 years ago) are completely dead IPs.

Its all financials and small risks.
So they made a risk with exoprimal and DD2 while guarantee bets with REmakes and monster hunters.
Now they have an onimushu and pragmata risk while have RE8, new MH game and apparently a REmake in teh works.
Who knows, their next risk moves might be a MM game or a dino crisis game while they REmake the next RE and have a new MH in the pipeline.

Its been a rather logical pattern with capcom where they have been churning out guarantee sellers RE and MH while risking a new venture of new IPs or old IPs

Mm11 sold gangbusters for a mm game. It's the best selling game in the franchise atm. And even out the gate it did well. Not just lifetime sales.
Mm11 was the risk. A new one would be slightly less a risk.

Whatsisface tsuchiya the producer of 11, Admitted the reason for the long hiatus was nobody wanted to be the guy to step up and fill inafunes shoes as series producer. And then he left capcom too, so we're back at square one with no series producer.
