Helldivers 2 had the best first 12 weeks of any PlayStation game ever (12 million copies) because it was on PC (over 50% of the sales). Helldivers 2 wouldn't have been the phenomenon that it was without PC. This is why Sony is experimenting with going multiplat.

Playstation exclusives are for super serious cinematic action adventure games with insane tech and budget. Helldivers 2 looked like some GaaS shit and I still haven't played it. Probably never will. PS5 is my main console. Sony made a good game for an audience outside their core base.

Xbox somehow has a drastically higher profit margin than Sony has with Playstation. Just in general terms. It's crazy that people think Xbox is dead when it has sold 40-50 million. People act like that's nothing, on top of the all of infrastructure they have with cloud/PC gaming. I recently even subbed to game pass to play a few games (Oblivion/Silksong/Ninja Gaiden 2) and the service has been really good. I think people need to reevaluate their console biases. You have to be crazy to think Xbox is failing just because Playstation sold more consoles.

They're shifting to OEMs next gen, expensive OEMs, their next gen console is basically a $1200+ PC with backwards compatibility only sold on their online store and will their finally first-party console, their OEMs for next generation won't have backwards compatibility. Yeah, it's dead, deader than the PlayStation. Home consoles are on their way out. Saying otherwise is just 7th gen normalfag delusion.

The first game being a couch coop twin stick top down shooter probably makes it too niche for zoomers. It was already kind of niche 10 years ago when it came out. Probably won't see a port and probably won't be touched again by Arrowhead. Even if they were, HD1 just needs an entire repackaging. There's like $42 worth of DLC which is a lot of a dead and old game, and you really need some of those DLC weapons for diff 15, it had a shitty pay model.
