it would be so much more enjoyable if you could immediately restart right at the boss. i feel like the boss is sort of a "level" in its own right and should be treated as such.

people criticize paper mario ttyd for 10 minutes of backtracking and will literally glaze metroidvanias that have shit like this

Not sure which boss you're on, but most of them have a bench pretty nearby. Hornet is really fast when she sprints, so if you hold down dash you should be able to backtrack to any given boss in about a minute at the longest if your routing is good
