I've been playing soul calibur 2 in my bed with the wireless GameCube controller

Currently playing Star Wars. It's pretty good.

I've been playing a lot of the classics games, currently trying to unlock the AX tracks in F-Zero GX. Done everything except beat the cups on Master mode, which I've done for the first cup so far.

I also noticed recently that the Pokemon Legends Z-A Switch 2 bundle on the store is dumb

I'm happy with it solely for Switch 1 games, the Switch 2 stuff are bonuses. Everything about it feels better than the S1 from the sticks to the Joycons to the build quality to the kickstand. I never got the OLED so it's just an upgrade in every way. The only thing I dislike is that the Joycons didn't come with these things to actually make it feel like a Nintendo system, the pure black doesn't make it pop like Nintendo typically would. I do think the new Joycon 2P mode attachments are unusable due to the wrist straps though, I genuinely can't understand what they were thinking with making them beyond uncomfortable to use making them pointless unless you cut the straps off.

When I got mine two weeks or so back no one had just the standalone system stocked, it's strictly the bundle so you have to shell out the extra $50 or you're not gonna get it.

im not personally interested in outlaws, but im beyond happy to see a current gen game for current gen systems being ported well and utilizing both ray tracing and dlss on an affordable handheld (comparatively speaking). if nothing else it shows that these things CAN be done, and that's all i could really ask for.

You're wrong about power. The Switch 2 port is better, but as is often the case, this is an example of optimization at work. Expect Switch 2 ports to be more optimized both due to the standardization and popularity of the hardware (i.e. the devs know there's a market and they know what hardware that market has).

PC handhelds run like shit every time because they're still PCs. Even the "powerful" handhelds run at 720p low settings

idk man i'm no starwars person but this looks good to me. I'm impressed the framerate is solid and that's just the handheld mode. A big far cry from switch 1 ports we've had in the past.

There's hoping some of the Switch 1 ports of western games get a dedicated patch in the future. Like Kingdom Come Deliverance 1, albeit it already feels great to have the massively reduced loading times.

there's too many different pc handhelds with different specs and not enough units sold to really justify optimizing games specifically to work on them. some companies do go out of their way to optimize for the deck(amusingly sony is one of them) but the vast majority aren't going to do that because their pc ports barely work on high end rigs to begin with because they're lazy.
