this guy did kindve nail the "random chaos" feeling of SM64 level design. the new kaze romhack he's been working on for years just looks like a rare romhack, which is great and all, but just different

A lot of modern hacks focus more on cool decomp/ASM shit like added mechanics and whatever. It's cool but if I'm playing a full hack I'd rather just play Mario 64, I don't want some wacky abilities on the Dpad or L button or whatever especially if I'm playing on an N64 controller. So I generally prefer older hacks.

I've parsed some of the hidden rules governing your average 3x3
1/ Don't repeat yourself
If you liked DaS3 you probably to some degree liked every other fromsoft game, including many games from the same developer is pointless and wastes real estate.
The same rule applies to genre, unless the games are very different there is zero point in listing every CRPG or JRPG you like because the top most one implies the others.
2/ No multiplayer games
Multiplayer games are seemingly taboo in these threads, or at least categorized seperately.
Probably because despite being much bigger timesinks nobody is proud about their 3 thousand hours in dota or considers the majority of those hours a praise worthy time, often these are played out of habit or FOMO or social obligation and rarely seemingly deserve to land on a 3x3.
3/ No console bias
If your 3x3 demonstrates a clear bias for Nintendo or Playstation despite primarily only owning those consoles you will be expunged from the thread, your 3x3 must be at least 66% PC games or you will be accused or having the palette of a 6 year old.
4/ no tetris

MGSV is one of those games where if it were actually finished and not rushed to shit, it’d be GOAT. As it stands it’s the skeleton of a good game dragged down by how it’s actually designed. Hitman WoA and Ground Zeroes are examples of what the game should have been structurally.

DaS being difficult was always a meme. I stand by my opinion that the only reason Souls caught on was because it was different from all the military shooters that were popular at the time. As games, they’re incredibly flawed.
