Am I crazy for thinking that Nintendo is not commiting to the Switch 2? It kind of seems like they want the Switch 1 to keep hobbling along like the PS4 did for the first several years after the PS5 came out

It's too expensive, plus Switch 1 already have a ton of games, plus the difference in graphics is not great.

I think a lot of people don't feel the need to upgrade.

it honestly doesnt even feel like the damn thing came out. Like it has zero fucking games aside from mario kart. they really needed huge zelda game to come out with it or something.

not really, it's still the best selling system in Japan by a good margin according to Famitsu

Mario Kart 8 has just never stopped selling because its basically THE perfect Mario Kart game. Nintendo was kinda just fucked when it came to making a better one.

but honestly, I think they're trying to do a slow rollout for the Switch 2. They want to keep the Switch on shelves because it's so successful so they want to drip feed Switch 2 content until the Switch 1 is out of steam, because as it stands, they can make games for both (even if they're cannibalizing hype for Switch 2 by doing so)

Look back to the SNES, N64, GameCube or Wii U. 1 game at launch is Standard Operating Procedure for Nintendo

most switch 1 games on switch 2 look shittier because the screen is 1080p and handheld mode for switch 1 games is 720p or less and most of them have locked 30fps framerates and will NEVER get updates to run better

I could believe it. Even the things reveal was a "here you go shut up" boring infographic. People day that was because of all the leaks, but the rest of the marketing hasn't exactly been good. Two non-regular directs after launch? Shadow dropping the Splatoon Raiders announcement on a gay app?
