Videogames were always an ongoing project made by inteligence agencies, just like TV and the Internet. The internet at least has been useful at the long run where its due, unlike the entertaiment slop. At first they were useful to simply socialize and get along, but eventually it was used to aid whatever narrative the western goverment wanted to sustain. The later generations have less to lose so they can see the facts and gain more sticking to the truth and living for self preservation while having nothing to do with the present culture, but the former has created a framework of identity dependent on products. That's why the only people who gives a shit about current releases are manchildren and shills.

This is frankly not true and a fallacy perpetuated by a failing industry. It's not true that zoomers and alpha kids don't play games. It's just that they only play free to play slop. So it's true that younger generations aren't spending as much money on games, but that is due to the failure of the industry to produce anything interesting, rather than a lack of interest from younger generations.

Modern video games are trash, so newer generations are not attracted to them as much as older generations were.
