This administration is the first that has ever impacted me and it's because I work for a university that had a lot of enrollment globally, and that has gone down. Because of that + general federal funding cuts, I was cucked out of a promotion because there were no funds to promote me, despite making all of my marks for the year. At least it put my work into perspective- haven't been taking it as seriously since then.
There's definitely some other factors at play, like the fact that my university is deciding to build more auditoriums around campus when we don't even fully use the ones that already exist instead of paying their employees, but the federal cuts and lower enrollment has caused both a promotion freeze and a hiring freeze, so I'm inheriting more work that I'm not getting paid any more money for as it is.
I also live near the Canadian border and as of late there have been a lot less Canadians coming in. I can only imagine what that is doing to the tourism industry.
