Peni either has a good mech design and a bad costume design, or vice versa. They've yet to knock it out of the park with both aspects, and only the Peach Momoko skin comes close.

I think they've put themselves in a corner because they can't give players the fanservice they want without offending a bunch of retards. Yeah I like it being a big mix, the Season 3 being basically all symbiote or Phoenix skins was a little samey. In fact for all the doom and gloom about "chink skins" I don't see any Asian themed ones despite it being a K'un-Lun season, the only recurring theme is the wasteland one.

In the comics, K'un-Lun is one of the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven, and each has an Immortal Weapon, Iron Fist being K'un-Lun, and once a century or so they all merge into one for a tournament between the Immortal Weapons.

So in Rivals, the timestream entanglement has prematurely set off the convergence and Doom's usual usurping attempts in challenging Shou-Lao for the power of K'un-Lun has prompted a new contest, but all the Immortal Weapons but Iron Fist are MIA in the timestream, so we get others chosen from the heroes present to represent the other cities, and apparently the Eighth City too judging by Daredevil (in the comics the Eighth City was fallen and turned into a giant prison for demons, here in Rivals it's been turned into a sanctuary that Daredevil is serving as leader of). And Doom is apparently backing a challenger too.

The Collector in Season 0 had abducted various individuals from across the timelines for his Museum, including Jeff, Mantis and Psylocke (from her Demon Days world), the three of them banded together to bust out. It was also hinted the Collector was building a theme park to showcase his collection, so there's your map.

There was also a previous tease in one gallery card from an earlier season that I think Psylocke had an interaction with a strange "man in red". While that could be Daredevil, it doesn't seem to fit his role, so I expect that's a tease for Deadpool.

He enters the tournament on the advice of Yinglong, to restore the Eighth City back to the Capital Cities of Heaven. But he's also told to retrieve the (currently broken) sword of Fu Xi, the blade Lin Lie wielded as Swordmaster before he became Iron Fist. This sword apparently can break open the tomb of Chiyou, who can supposedly restore balance to the Collapsing Universe, the one that this game's Daredevil, Scarlet Witch and Magik are from.

Now that's a lot of ous and ongs, but I looked up both Yinglong and Chiyou, and both are from Chinese mythology, Yinglong is a dragon and rain deity, Chiyou is a war and chaos deity and in some myths a demon god. Which sounds more than a little sketchy to me. So perhaps Daredevil is being misled by a masquerading imprisoned bad guy.

S6 I think is Hydra, based on the Maveth map reveal recently, and leaks about fighting some tentacle thing in a possible PvE mode. Hydra and Deadpool are my guesses.

The Buddhist legend is a parallel they're making to his own journey, which connects him to the season location in K'un-Lun. Similar to how Phoenix was connected to the Knull story despite having no connection to him in the comics, by emphasizing her being the embodiment of fire and life against Knull's empty darkness.

In game design terms, the season map and the season heroes added are going to be worked out on a schedule of development and balancing roles, name recognition, etc, but the devs clearly also want to make the inclusions of characters feel fairly organic regardless from a story perspective. Ultron in the Hellfire Gala season was standing in for Orchis from the comics, as a machine menace to Krakoa, but they also took the time to justify why he was there specifically in the 2099 timeline in Krakoa, which he had nothing to do with in the comics.

i don't think we know if she can fly yet or not. all i've seen leaked is that at least 3 of her skills are "Draw Ability", but it's hard to infer anything definitive from that because it presents a lot of possibilities.

just as a brief example, we don't know if she'll be drawing them from an RNG pool, stealing them from players, or stealing them from allies. we don't know if they'll expire after a duration or be permanent until replaced, either. depending on which way it functions, her game plan and the effect she'll have on any team comp varies wildly.

there's also the question of what happens to the ability you stole from Venom if the person playing Venom swaps heroes after death. losing an ability mid-fight could be devastating, but i think it would be a real problem if you could just get your team to swap to the most meta characters for Rogue to take abilities from so she can build her kit, then switch back to their mains without her losing those abilities. she could become the best character in the game in her health pool bracket if she can really piece meal her kit to the max.

I'm not too versed in Iron Fist so I had to look this up, but Chiyou has actually already appeared in Marvel Comics. Very friendly looking. So in the comics he's an ancient demon god of war sealed in three tombs including one under K'un-Lun, and the Sword of Fu Xi, which Lin Lie wielded as Sword Master before becoming Iron Fist, is one of the things keeping him imprisoned and it being broken has weakened the seals.
