there's a tunnel behind you, he can't jump if you or him are inside of it; moreover he burrows underground more often. Just juggle in and out of the tunnel you fucking troglodyte
Just wait for him to jump, walk towards where he jumped from and punish. This boss is really easy. I'm stuck on the ant fight, with the multiple enemies and the npc that helps you. But I haven't had time to play.

i dont get how you people struggled with him so much. i just hit him a lot with the dash attack and diagonal dive until he died

The issue is that its near impossible to dodge the jump attack unless you time your parry perfectly because the game expects you to deep docks first and get dash before fighting him. Which is dumb because you're more likely to encounter him first based of the natural path they lead you down than you are to traverse to deep dock first

Look fag I get that you're proud of beating him without the dash I did too its impressive but you don't have to pretend the boss wasn't designed with having the dash in mind its very obvious it was and it doesn't diminish your accomplishments or the quality of the game for acknowledging that you don't need to boost your ego by acting like a retard

See what I mean? No one cares man you don't need to boost your ego we're just talking about game design where it is a fact the the jump attack of the boss is designed with thought that you would have the dash by then in mind. Can you beat him or dodge him without it? Yes is it the ideal way your expected to do it? Obviously not. The boss is just a harder boss without the tool designed to make it an easier encounter of which most players just didn't come across before getting to him because of the natural progression when exploring

Thanks, I also ran into this boss before unlocking Dash so I guess I'm going in the wrong direction, which worries me. Currently stuck trying to do the "red baloons" jump attack area, figured out that different crests affect your trajectory but can't get the angle right with the default one and the one that lets you spam attacks doesn't allow diagonal jump attacks and doesn't reach far enough

its a bit of a timing and position thing you'll get the hang of it eventually its not nearly as hard as /v/ makes it out to be

There is a jail room below his arena. Go down, free the thief, then enter his cell to get to the cell above his. There is a set of knives in there. Go to a bench and equip them. Bait the retard into chasing you into the narrow tunnel with the knives. Then step in to poke and step out when he swings twice to retaliate.

A lot of people talk about cheesing him but his attacks are really simple. Just jump over his normal swing and walk under him when he telegraphs his jump. You don't even need the dash for that.

its insane people are actually struggling, it says a lot about modern players. I only died here a few times because I try to mix in as many dives as possible regardless if its safe or not for fun.
