It's funny watching new nintendo games just come out and die like this. People had their expectations set up for decade long milk sessions with botw and mario kart 8 and now nobody cares or wants to play this crap even though the writing was on the wall with mario luigi brothercest and peach showdown and mario wonder.

It is great, and the sad thing is Nintendo is going to be getting mixed messages. Their fanbase is convinced they never fail, their Japan sales are acceptable, but the reviews slip, the player counts are in the toilet, and the internet refuses to accept it.
I hope the DLC courses go into the open world and while they're in development you can actually see the construction sites in free roam and the detours change some of the track to track courses.
it's fun but i don't feel the pull to go back in the same way as MK8. it doesn't help that the free roam is not particularly interesting and seems tacked on.

Didn't play Brothership, but Wonder gave people great expectations by saying they were breaking the mold and moving on from New Super, and then Wonder is just New Super with a fresh coat of paint. It's a perfectly serviceable game, but this is fucking Mr. Platformer here. Why should his 2D games feel like an afterthought while we wait a decade for the next 3D game?
