I had to swim into his mouth for him to attack me.
I wonder why?

You can track it with the bloops it makes underwater, and if it does charge you only need to have the X-ray lamp on and wave it in its direction

Yeah the labs is really fucked since there's so much verticality that doesn't mean a thing. I mean does there really need to be an entire floor of literally nothing aside from the ONE cell with a Composer in it?

Where can i find an anvil
i need an anvil to upgrade work bench
i cant go anywhere besides the first places from the hub
been everywhere
also need a power thing for the forklift but i cant go anywhere
i found the guy that knows about power things hiding in the attic but thats about it

If you use your high iq scientist brain you can get an anvil from the cafateria, otherwise you just keep exploring. You missed an area probably
Anonymous No.719912128

>Where can i find an anvil
Go up the elevator past the forklift guy and head into the portal and through that level. After that you get into the next part that has some anvils in a storage area. Also what the other anon said, just go back to the cafeteria and at night and head for the big spinning fan to get into a secret area with another anvil.
Anonymous No.719912163
>>719911775
There's an anvil basically right where you start the game. In a storage closet in the cafeteria. Gotta go through the ducts to enter the room. There's a fan blocking the way but it powers down at night with everything else.
Another anvil is right next to the portal for Flathill which is where you get Power Cells.

>Building anywhere but the security room at the start.
It literally gives you the best base location in the game right off the bat. Plenty of room, access to water/a stove early, easily defended, a coffee maker and vending machines right there.
Raids come from either the lobby or the cafeteria. Both ways are chokepoints. Only problem comes from if you build in the cafeteria area you have to defend it.

>stove
With one usable burner that only works during the day. Cafeteria/security room is good but the Labs area above the fish tanks is also good since the only thing you need to worry about is the bot downstairs you can farm.

I mean, I guess? But making a stove is super easy, especially when you can just get some computers to the office area to the right when you leave the cafeteria and grab the pans/fridge from the kitchen.

Cafeteria is really spacious and the worst enemy that ever spawns in the kitchen is a pest. The relaxation room with a couch and TV is comfy and one entrance is pre-barricaded so enemies are unlikely to aggro on it. I just primarily crammed my base in that TV room and put two barricades at the entrance and called it a day, even after raids started spawning from the other side. I think the water tube there also spawns an Exor once unlocked but it is content to stay there. The kitchen itself is also well-barricaded because I've never seen enemies show up from the side door, so it's practically unassailable except for the aforementioned Pest because I'm pretty sure NPCs never intentionally attack non-player-placed furniture.

I think Soup needs to spoil if you don't have it on a stove. It's just TOO strong to make a thousand soups and always keep yourself topped up. Once you get enough peas, salt and farm a bunch of pests you're good to go.

Soup is not even the worst offender honestly, you can get easy pure water after you loot a barrel from the environment and gain access to the purified carbon in the Labs. Agriculture is basically growing plants with a resource that's extremely easy to renew, especially if you get several stoves and cooking pots to boil water before you get the water filter.
