I keep trying to force myself through EO2HD but I've stalled out hard at the Siren on floor 15, it's so tedious to grind any more levels as my party is already at like 44 but I don't know what else I can do to avoid someone getting double tapped into a failure spiral on turn one or two since all the defense buffs I have can't prevent it at my current HP and defense (lol) values.

I know, I can tell by the fact that my gunner and ronin can oneshot entire enemy packs, but somehow despite that my frontline still goes down immediately to the 3-hit attack landing two on anybody. Yes I've put points into HP on all of them.

scylla is a shit boss and unless your party is completely fucked up getting a bit lucky with her ailments failing and her low accuracy attacks missing should be all you need.
Or if you party is fucked up suck it up and rest everyone and pick good skills this time. I believe HD updated resting to be only -2 levels like the later games are so it isn't that much of a setback

I don't know what the meme team is but I'm running ronin, dark hunter (with sword), war magus, gunner and troubador because I wanted to pick stuff I didn't use in EO1.

Drop the troubadour for a protector on the front line and max head binds with either DH or Gunner
There, now you can kill Siren 20 level below what you're at right now with no issues

Gunner already has maxed head binds, it just never actually hits in time to stop anything. I have been leveling a protector to swap in though but even changing the difficulty to picnic for the grinding it's tediously slow.

the meme team is that but with hexer instead of a troubadour. All fragile classes and no defense other than binds/ailments. Which certainly works, but don't be surprised when your party explodes because your failed to disable the enemy.
