What do you pay for video games?

>99% of the time I won't buy a game until it drops to $5 - $10 on sale
>1% of the time I'll pay $70 if it's a game I've waited my whole life for, Like MGSV or Dragons Dogma II (shut up, I liked it)

I pirate when possible and usually just pay full price if it has denuvo or is a console exclusive.

OP you pretty much described how I buy my games.
I average about 1-2 fully priced games a year, some years I don't buy shit at all.
Super hyped for pic related but good lord a 5-6 hour game is not worth the asking price, also the price is inflated because Bamco bundled Little Nightmares 3 with the first game which is something I don't want since I already have it.
I believe I bought the first two with all the DLC for $10 on sale, total playtime of 13.5 hours, maybe $20 would have been ok.

Thats why AAA PC exclusives dont exist anymore

Pirate everything. Only buy it when/if I feel it had earned its asking price.
I only do this because a "good playable demo" seems like a foreign concept to the modern industry. Indies included.

I "pay" for the game in word of mouth. I do the games I play such a service that the developer basically owes ME money.

Same. And same with DD2 as well.
I've realized even if I find a game interesting or enjoyable, I'm only likely to play them a lot if I really like them. So I'm willing to spend more on the rare things that do fit my tastes. Even more on merch or events. I went to the fucking DMC5 concert when that game launched.

Demos help a lot. A lot of smaller indie games are getting demos and have lower launch prices, which is nice.
