Iβm glad you brought that up, I have a monitor and it works, my concern right now is that if I try to reinstall my laptop later, idk if the monitor will work or not when the BIOS is pulled up. Iβm pretty sure I had this issue with a previous laptop, where I tried to reinstall it (that laptop had a broken hinge not water damage) and I used a monitor for it. When I tried to reinstall that shitty asus i was basically locked out because there was a point where the monitor wouldnβt register. so right now Iβm unsure if I should just keep using a monitor or if I should replace the screen.
Iβm wondering if the water damaged the screen or if it damaged a chip, because something weird happened once (I have shut this laptop off and on multiple times since it happened) where when the monitor is plugged in when the computer starts up, the entire screen worked perfectly, and the monitor started flashing weird colors. That was when I had the monitor plugged in before starting it up.
When I start the computer up first and then plug the monitor in, it behaves differently where the monitor works perfectly and the laptop screen is what looks fucked up.
This was two days ago so who know what state itβs in now. I am really getting tired of laptops being made with planned obselesence in mind because that is the only reason water got into the screen to begin with, because this laptop also has fucked up hinges. Itβs ALWAYS the hinges which break, and then parts of the plastic break off and you have exposed wiring. Someone online said they do this on purpose so they break by the three year mark.
