How come they don't have more devs there? Considering how many oil princes love vidya and anime and they spend millions and millions on stuff like hats in Dota 2... you would think they would maybe open up their own studios, start schools for vidya development and more?

xzr 1 and 2 (called exile in the western release for the genesis) was a pretty cool series. you played as an arab time traveler that takes hallucinogenic substances and other drugs while fighting monsters and whatnot. I would love a remake of this series desu.

I'm from the region you're talking about. and I don't really care about representation. I actually prefer if we're not represented. at one point I used to play a lot of Doom WADs. and another point I used to play a lot of soulslike. and every now and then I'll break the monotony by playing online games or different genres of single player games.

I had fun without any representation and I actually don't want the representation at all. I prefer it this way. I don't mind the representation. Although I'm religious so I do mind islamic representation and this is because I concluded that religion doesn't exist to be entertainment and video games are just a part of the entertainment industry. However we have culture unrelated to religion or islam specifically. I don't mind those at all. I don't mind 1001 style fantasy depictions in video games. Like everyone else I used to like the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy. and the new metrodvania is also great. I also don't mind non fantasy settings or ancient pre-islamic settings like the Assassin Creed that was set in ancient Egypt during the Hellenistic era and Rome was involved in that game.

I guess the only depictions I don't like are modern war games that pretend that the great Satan the Jewnited States is the good guy while the jihadi resistance is the terrorist side which is the opposite of true.

I see what you are saying, and I do agree to an extent, but when you depict historical settings and mix it up with some fantasy, it tends to create an interesting theme that gets people interested, regardless if Islam is involved or not.
I say fuck it, let it be, it might result in an interesting tale.
Personally, would much rather see a pre-Islamic era setting, something that is heavily under studied or represented.

Arabs are welfare leeches in gulf states. Ideally they would just live off oil money while the slaves do all the work but they instead import pajeets and take away their passports while also paying a lot of money for any western specialist(doctors, nurses, engineers etc.) that want to come in. They legit don't have enough devs to make a game because of this, I wouldn't be surprised if they lacked enough arabs with managerial skills to just hire rank and file devs to make "arabian" game.

Wrong because computer science wasn't that much advanced/taught here or considered videogame making as a real job similar why some countries like india and china didn't have much development until now actually it was limited to few countries before doujin/indie boom. It doesn't have nothing to do with capability programing isn't hard. Foreign labour is hired because it's cheap not because locals are lazy just like why japs will import indinas and other asians they want cheap labour which affected us as locals and damaged job market just like how euro and mutts are importing indians for cheap labour that fucked canada for example. Most new generation is educated and better capable but don't have much of a chance with market flooded with cheap labour
