I think this game has the shortest honey moon period I've ever seen. Expedition 33 lasted a month before people started seeing it was shit because more normies got to the second half bits of the game, but this one straight up pisses people off after a few hours lmao

Game difficulty is a valid point of critique, especially if it's a ramp up of it
I've heard that alot of people will just beat their head against certain areas under the assumption that it's the way the game is supposed to be played
The tomb of giants in DS1 is not the 1st area, but some will try to push into it under the assumption that the game is supposed to be ""hard"" and bounce off. I think the same thing is probably happening here. The game doesn't have any direct way of communicating that a boss or area is for "later", and the "get good" mentality is making that even harder to parse.

Before they had consoles and their own steam version they had MMOs in internet cafes and gachas on their phones, both of which are very susceptible to the playerbase chimping out in an attempt to get free shit as apologies. So that culture migrated over when they got real vidya hardware and now they review bomb everything under the sun to try and get that kind of control back.

It was hyped up a lot and became very popular, but it's also a fairly hard game. The second boss, Bell Beast, does 2 damage whenever he or a bell hits you, so I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people fell off really early. Fourth Chorus and Skarrgard are also pretty punishing to bad players, and they're really early too.
