I never found good key binds for myself. The issue was more one of sensitivity. Analog suited me more for that.

I've used the N52te gamepad for over 10 years now, I got it for WoW but use it for other games too, currently I have around 40 keys bound right at the click of my finger tips no stretching my fingers & the pad is comfy!
They stopped making them back in like 2012 or some shit but mine still works (third one I've bought this one has lasted about 6 years)

Metroidvanias too, gamepad is just much more comfortable

the only issue I get with keyboard is that with so many options the default controls can sometimes be retarded and I have to remap them every time. Yes I think shift should always be sprint, crouch is control etc
