Armor yes, base game FNV they use up a fuckton of ammo unless you're willing to fork over caps to buy it. Generally the games easy enough that I don't use GRA DLC weps or the best variants. I once just gave Raul a rifle from the Dead Money DLC and used the chips from the voucher you get every 3 days to buy ammo from it. Worked perfectly.

She is niche at the end of the day. Her shotgun isn't that great, but being ranged makes her less liable to die on hardcore than the melee companions. Her perk is genuinely a reliable means of 6 to 9 DT on Survival builds, but is near useless outside of it. More often than not I hand her over to the Van Graffs.
