The narrative of 1 kinda sucked but it struck a good vibe comedy-wise, but I do prefer 2 overall because its story was genuinely extremely great aside from the clumsy Angel/Lilith arc at the end and had more and better jokes

I jump between PoE2, Diablo 4 and LE seasons and will also buy the Grim Dawn expansion when it's out so no, I quite enjoy these games. They're a very good break between playing games where I have to actually put some effort into reading and understanding the story and world. The fact that they did it for a decade old game fills me with a dread all too familiar with the game's industry today. They can change your game and you have little recourse in that decision. I was thinking about teaching myself how to mod games with BL2 being my first game. Not anymore. But that's just one major discussion that has turned me off from the series. The price, the MCs, Nu-Tales. And those are the negatives that I can name. Having played Wonderlands, I can the series is on the decline, despite the positives (enemy design is some of the best in the industry and their level design has gotten better). I just can't take it anymore.

I think the thing that made BL2's comedy work better was the fact that BL2 was more open to using the game's mechanics as ways to tell it's jokes. The reason why Jack's kill yourself quest is so funny is because of the fact that it plays with the mechanics of the game to tell it's joke. BL3's comedy fell flat because rather than continuing this level of wit, every character was just written to tell their stand-up routine over the radio and the few times BL3 also thinks to use it's gameplay as a way to tell jokes it just repeats the same jokes you already had in BL2. It's just not funny to do the kill yourself quest again when the only thing BL3 added to the bit was giving you a gun that called you a bitch when you shot it if you followed through with it again (which also kinda ruins the joke because part of what made the joke funny in BL2 was the fact that all you got from actually killing yourself was just some chump change for it. It's less of a bitch move if there's an exclusive piece of gear tied to it, even if that exclusive gun is still a joke weapon.)

Nope. I already played BL2 enough to never want to touch the series again.
