Witch's House
>makes one game in RPGmaker
>before that formula translated to a game being shit
>much like Mad Father or Corpse Party, is considered a gaming culture landmark
>dev goes radio silent for five years
>dev makes a light novel
>dev has a manga adaptation of said light novel
>dev goes radio silent for another decade
>has a remake
>dev goes radio silent again possibly forever

I don't get this, it's same story with the Mad Father dude. At least the guy behind Corpse Party capitalized on his idea and branched out, why the fuck would you not do this? Is this just how Japanese autism is?

He probably got a different job OP. Just because you made a successful game doesn't mean you have to work with vidya for the rest of your life.

I don't mean that. I meant the fact you'd think with how well known it is you'd try, I don't know...making significant amounts of money instead of a small paycheck's worth by making a comic? Apparently making one light novel took him five years.

oh and to add to this fact, look at the type of fags that blow up making Rpgmaker slop these days. The schizo finn who made the rape and cannibalism game. The korean with his gay zoophilia fetish "game". All these dudes are now on the map in some way. Fummy, Sen, and Makoto Kedลin may as well not even exist. Two of the aforementioned people don't even get their real names credited.

I'd figure F&H and others have more staying power since they're pretty difficult RPGs that take multiple playthroughs to complete. The Witch's House is a puzzle game that's mostly a single playthrough experience with only a single branch at the very end.
