Every day the community has been asking them "where is Silk Song, where is Silk Song." Frens, how do I kill savage beastfly? I can do his first phase hitless, but his second phase seems very RNG dependant as in sometimes it doesn't spawn adds until much later and sometimes it starts spawning adds from the start of the phase. Also the spawns themselves seem random so sometimes I get weak bugs I can mostly ignore but sometimes I get the big bois that take up so much space dodging the boss seems impossible. I have tried bursting down the spawns as soon as they arrive with thread storm and that usually works but eventually I can't keep up with the spawns and get fucked. I know I can also bait the boss to crush them but that doesn't always work out. I have more trouble with beastfly than I had with widow lmao.

I'm in Act 2 nigga.

I havent been able to play much yet but I just beat the bird guy in Greymoor. The game is great and I love seeing reddit seethe about it. IMO the game was “bad” slightly worse HK until I got the dash/sprint from Hunters March (thankfully this was one of the first areas I went to). After that it clicked for me how aggressive and fast you can move with Hornet and suddenly I was having a ton of fun. A lot of crying plebbitors seem to be playing the game like HK. With hornets fast speed, high jump, air heal, tools, and if you are good and confident enough her spells, her playstyle is much different from HK. I actually think its genius how they used subtle changes to completely shift the playstyle with Hornet while still making the game feel like HK. Right now the game is a 8/10 for me and im expecting that to go up as the bosses get more interesting and I unlock more tools and abilities.

Tips on how to reach the zone to the right of far lands?

I found the Reaper Crest and anons were right, it definitely does help the combat immensely to get rid of the cringe ass diagonal downslash. However it doesn't fully alleviate the feeling of being gimped during a fight. The Reaper Crest's moveset is kind of gimped in other respects: you can't swing fast and your up-attack is behind you for some stupid ass reason. "Oh, you want the game to not be clunky? Suffer." - TC. You still can't chain pogo due to the slow swing speed and how far upwards the pogo sends you flying. Enemies are still programmed to leap backwards 15m after every swing like they're Elden Ring bosses so you can't get a retaliatory hit in, especially not when they also enter guarding stances whenever they're not attacking. The combat loop still mostly feels like "wait for your chance to matador the enemy and maybe get in a second hit if the stars align." My feeling is that this is still dragging itself out way too hard for how little drops the enemies give and how many of them take as long as full-fledged HK minibosses to kill.
Also, I dunno if this is the intended first playthrough experience, but I'm needing to conserve so much silk to heal that I'm basically never ever pressing F to launch my needle. I'm also so perpetually broke that I've bought practically none of the tools for sale. The resource economy in this game is mega fucked up. Oh yeah sure maybe on a hypothetical playthrough 2 when I'm better at the game this loosens up. Am I particularly inclined to do that playthrough 2? Not really do far.
Ultimately, I feel like this game has fallen for the "games don't NEED to be fun to play!" brainrot. The default control scheme is unnecessarily tryhard clunk and since that's the intended experience any powerup you get that could potentially help out comes with a giant laundry list of compromises to make it clunky in other ways.

Been doing that but I can't seem to get him to slam that often. Also when the adds spawn in they have i-frames so sometimes the slam direct impacts a fresh spawn and they just tank it. Watched some youtube videos and it seems there's A LOT of variance in how many adds get spawned and what kind so I'll just keep grinding until I get lucky with the spawns. Bloatfly itself is basically harmless alone.

Unironically get good. The Knight in HK was a facetanker that could spam spells and heals, Hornet is a nimble glass cannon. At least with her spike trap tool I’ve found that I can basically melt some bosses if I place the traps properly and hit a few needle spells. If you are good at landing all the opportunities you have for damage you dont need to heal nearly as much.

It doesn't feel like a metroidvania at all. Not a single time during my entire playthrough did I have that archetypical "get an ability and feel motivated to go back and explore old areas" feeling. The entire crest / tool system should have been scrapped and instead we needed 5++ more traversal / key abilities that open up the map. Remove that stupid quest system while we're at it and replace them with boss encounters / platforming sections / gauntlets that reward "charms" / mask shards / nail upgrades etc.

Silkhearts specifically encourage you to spend silk rather than sit on it. Free silk at 0 means less hits needed for your next skill or heal. Your basic silkspear does the same damage as 3 hits at a huge range and once you get that first heart you only need to land 3 normal hits before shooting off another one. The traps are also a huge help and the game now hands out beads you specifically can't lose until you pull them off the string. Use some of those to buy a trap because they shit damage too. The appeal of Hollow Knight isn’t that it was best in class in something (combat, exploration, level design, atmosphere, etc…), but that it was generally great at everything. The game had basically zero flaws and everything about it just worked.
Silksong is more uneven. It might not be the best metroidvania combat but it’s damn close. On the other hand exploration is noticeably worse in every way compared to the original.

Well no because Silksong already highlighted a big flaw I personally had with HK. A ton of the overworld in HK was just so completely nonthreatening and boring to traverse.

Because devs feel the need to one up themselves, and the gameplay feedback on sequels during development is more likely to come from people very good at the game than for first entries.

Elden Ring had a similar issue, it's laughable how much more difficult it is compared to Dark Souls. Sekiro got away with its high difficulty because the gameplay systems were new. Silksong does play a bit differently, but it's still close enough to Hollow Knight that it simply feels like a far more punishing version for no reason at all.

Like, the first area of HK had 3 boss battles in it from the get go (Gross Mother, Mawlek, False Knight). Compared to that, boss fights in SS seem like they are practically absent and I'm not sure I like that.

Do enemies stop being damage spunges at any point? I just beat Moorwing or whatever his name is, and the fucker took like 50+ hits. The enmies all leading up to that were the same, easily 10+. Little shitters all take 4 or more hits too. To be fair I haven't upgraded the nail, but I haven't found where yet.

The elites flier is fairly immobile and easy is basically just a big silk farm. The smaller flier can be deleted with silk storm. The spikeyboi can straight up be ignnored and reliably killed by beastyfly's slam but you can smack him for more silk.
