not a single one of them are going to get anything because hoyo already dominates everyone that wants to play "generic anime gacha slop" in all those fields.

idk about that, wuwa took off decently well, i think there's space for competition. it's especially true with gacha because they're all $0 going in so it's really easy to try them out and see if there's anything to em worth sticking around for. that's why i've played so many, it's not because they're all that good, it's because it's really easy to put a few hours into something that doesn't cost anything.

genshin has been getting a lot over the past year or so that were long overdue because the director for the game hates quality of life stuff and is generally a faggot. hsr has gotten qol upgrades pretty regularly from day one because the director's not as much of a faggot about it.
no gacha game has anything even close to resembling "good character design" because none of them are characters. They're ads. Every single one of those characters has no personality, no real story, no real writing, development, conflict, nothing. They're going to have a seasonal banner and then be discarded for the next shiny new goonbait until ad infinitum. They cannot truly have any real challenges or conflicts that can't be resolved by pure force or swindling a dumbass because it makes gooners scared they might like a flawed character. They are the definition of jingling keys.

depending on what metric you use, you're either full of shit or your criticism applies to 90% of video game characters

limbus company is a gacha game with real characters because there's a set cast of 12 motherfuckers that are with you since the beginning and have flaws, development and presence, unlike most gacha characters, because there's no monetary incentive to make them flawless diamonds for gooners since every player already has them and you just roll for alternate classes. Even after they have their "story chapter" they still continue receiving development in the future because there's no reason for the story to "forget" them since they're always with you.

very few games have actual proper character development beyond at most having like one story segment dedicated to their background, this applies to games generally and not specifically to gacha games. there are games that do it but they're in the minority even among story-driven games, hence 90-10 split.

Not all gacha games follow the wuthering waves formula youknow. Infact, the only gacha game i find this description fits is wuthering waves.

every hoyo game is like this. Characters of the current seasonal banner show up in the story, have their big plotline and then just disappear for the rest of the game's lifespan

fgo is popular because of the franchise and the story that eventually became good, it'd be hard to peel users off it because they're attached to the franchise specifically.
blue archive is cunnyge with fairly generous "old mobage" gameplay so it'd be difficult to displace because there's not a lot of cunnyge and a lot of gacha is ultra-jewish, but it's not impossible that it could be displaced, especially if it gets ruined from within

Multiple characters visits another regions most of the time, specially when they got major roles, I dunno what this guy talking about.
Genshin often getting old low rank characters showing up in newest story quest.
In next patch we already watched in the new trailer about multiple old characters showing up in new region too.

I don't care about all this open world daily grind slop that shit is terrible
WHEN THE TICK ARE WE GETTING MORE TOWER DEFENSE GACHAS
Arknights and path to nowhere both feel like nobody still talks about the game because they're so old
I want to be there for the launch of a new one
Arknights launch was so fun

Every thread you say this and every thread you're btfo by examples of recent old character appearances. Like Trigger and S11 were just in the main quest of ZZZ and Sanby was back for the character quest event

The only game that formerly had any potential was Endfield. Game is cooked after that CBT though the fuck are they even doing with that story the characters and the way they don't have a vision for the gameplay.

But when will ananta release for once?
That's the only gacha I somewhat want to play since it looks like the most "fun" within the limits of being a gacha trash.

Asian concept artist trend that's been growing for a decade. Nobody was making games with it. Now that the East is becoming equipped to produce vidya you get to see it in motion because it's a convenient backdrop to make anything. Leadership demand that characters look like they belong in Genshin Impact though.
>>719962337 >hoyo dicksuckers genuinely believe this
no one cares about your auto battler powercreep simulator or your failed furshit black culture game
