Are we losing the knowledge to make this type of gameplay and games?

if it's any consolation this is the most popular game on fightcade, SF3 beats it sometimes, but this games playerbase is split between a rom hack (allows boss chars) and the arcade. Yet it still is top most of the time.

You forgot to include that 99% of the players are from a single region.

No. It isnt lost. Devs are simply choosing to pander to "the modern audience" i.e., people that dont like games let alone fighting games. Fighting games dont need to be easier to play, they just need to be easier to learn, and perceived as easier to play.

>Jump in, normal, dash cancel, normal, super
>Deals insane damage
The only difference these days is that the input window for the cancels is several frames wider and depending on the game you might need 1 or 2 more reps before the super.

99 percent on fightcade are from a single region. The kof series, 2002 included still has a sizable amount of chinese and japanese players, maybe pakistani players as well if i remember right, these people just dont play on fightcade

Although, other fighters also have large communities that arent on fightcade. The tekken community is on another platform, called arkadyzja. Most street fighter installments still have an active community in japanese arcades. And there are also some people offline on old console ports for various games but its difficult to gauge how many people are playing that way.

Anyway fightcade or steam numbers dont tell the whole story for any fighter

you forget he had to hop back and roll to time the galactica.

I couldn't tell how much of that Galactica after was manual or part of the super, but it's cool that it's the former. While I do love a lot of SNK games I actually haven't played that much KOF (more of a SamSho series & Real Bout 2 guy). That said, there's even a modern analogue to supers you can juggle after with decent (if still less strict) timing like Jamie SA3, though Jamie wishes he could do Ralf damage.

in 2002 they made the phantom be a special, instead of a super.

That galactica is an extremelly unpractical motion outside of begginers and AI because is so slow you can't do something to time it.

I think in 98/97 is possible to time it with the dizzy state, but is just not practical.
The only games where you see the galactica in high level is 99-00.

As for your question, is not part of the super, is just a special.
Also, that combo doesnt apply to pretty much all the cast, and not sure if it's just a chang only combo.

The two niggas beating each other is the most primitive and basic type of game, and it will never be lost. Don't believe me? Go outside and punch someone.

Nah, you can only be racist towards minorities. China has an insanely large population.
