It has wish support

It's a creepy-cool black lagoon water dog that can literally liquefy its own body. It's the best Eevee with the best design. They give it a pretty big tail-to-body size ratio compared to the other Eevee-lutions so it actually looks like a functional swimmer.

It's also one of the easiest bulky Water-types to splash onto a team. Water-types with high special defense are especially useful in playthroughs. Add to that Eevee is usually way easier to get than something like, say, Milotic. Also guaranteed to have Water Absorb which lets it beat a lot of other Water-types and gives it easy switch-ins (really useful on a Nuzlocke).

Its Water-type: The Pokemon. Always a good choice.

Vaporeon can "melt" and vanish into water, concealing itself from enemies and ambushing prey, due to its cellular composition being highly similar to water molecules. This allows it to blend in perfectly with its aquatic environment.
How Vaporeon conceals itself
Molecular similarity: Vaporeon's cells resemble water molecules, allowing it to become visually indistinct while submerged.
Passive camouflage: It is not a magical transformation into liquid, but a natural form of camouflage that makes it difficult to see in a body of water.
Ambush predator: This ability is used for hiding from threats or waiting patiently for fish Pokémon, its prey, to get close.
Regenerative properties: In addition to concealment, the process of dissolving into water can also regenerate a Vaporeon's injuries.
