It's slowly getting to the point where I start to feel sad for these retards that still don't realize what chapter 2 is really about and how the ending was designed to send home the phantom pain (loss upon loss) and "proxy wars with no end" themes. Even worse is how the gameplay gets misunderstood because morons can't deal with player agency and creative expression.

Modscene has also gotten pretty good over the years. Plenty of well designed side-ops, graphical updates and infinite heaven completely negating the ps3 limitations and filling up the world with patrols and vehicles to make it all feel more organic and alive. Still playing to this day, no other game has even come close to what TPP is.

I'm always assuming they took the hollow chapter 1 victory ending at face value and the move on to completely miss the themes of chapter 2 because of the optional reruns of missions and admittedly, chapter 2 doesn't have the best pacing to let it all sink in. You get forced back to mother base for a story beat a bit too often. It's funny how even the mission list spells it out for you by placing "proxy war without end" in between the optional reruns to hit you over the head with it. But that was apparently still too nuanced for the moutbreathers.

I beat this game a bunch of times. No kills, No alerts, No reflex, No tranq.

What are some other autistic challenges I can give myself?

I replayed the game a couple of months ago and I was very surprised how well it aged. It was more fun and had better mechanics and the gameplay felt more smooth than any modern tps.
Then it hit me. Maybe it is not that it aged like wine but it was the peak and everything went downhill after 2015.

If you make him shit on the road, enemy vehicles will slip and lose control. Do this while a jeep with 4 guys approaches, they'll slip and end up all being stunned for a brief time but long enough to take them out permanently. It's more of a gag ability but it has it's uses.

It's the one MGS game I keep returning to over and over again. Other instalments make you run through the whole story so you usually play it once and put it on the shelf, but with V you can just boot up the game, drop into the world to do some side-ops or maybe a mission or two and be done with it for a time being. GZ is arguably even better at it but I like the sandbox nature of TPP more

Yeah. It's clearly different thang TPP, but if you have any tolerance for resource accumulating base building games you'll find enjoyment here. It has it's fair share of spooky spots too, Devil's House vibes.

Nah, TPP brought a lot more to the table in the end. Shame Konami fucked us out of the DLC or we would have gotten a GZ style island map on top of it all. They knew people wanted that tighter experience again so they planned to deliver.
