Wizardry but because Wizardry came out when pong was technologically impressive and other installments deciding to remain pretty faithful to the original's vision it leaves a lot to be desired in this day and age. the only other game to try to tackle the aesthetic is Dragon's Dogma.

Strength and weight aside, a halfling with a round shield would be pretty hard to hit. His whole body would be covered.

thieves (later changed to 'rogues') in old dnd were little more than mandatory toolboxes you brought with you to unlock chests and disable traps. they were notoriously horrible at anything combat related and their role in wizardry sort of reflects that.
