The movement sucks.
The player's speed and maneuverability is weirdly inconsistent. Where you attack and roll very fast. But your turning or ability to go up or down on the Y axis is retardedly gimped. You play like a race horse that can go in on direction really fast, but can't make a turn on the way.
The controls suck.
Kicking is bound to the player first having to totally stop moving, then correctly time pressing Forward+Attack, which at least 1/4th of the time whiffs and you do a normal light attack. There is no dedicated jump button, and you can't do it from standing still, regardless. So if you get stuck on any terrain, or want to move over a small obstacle, it is a pointless headache.
The camera is dogshit.
The game is set 90% in tight corridors, but the camera is set too far back outside of boss fights. So you're constantly phasing into the walls or having your camera start shitting itself looking for some place to stay. A properly made camera system would have moved in closer to hug the player's shoulder when in tight areas, and backed out when in open areas.
Combat is okay.
Enemies with shields are annoying before you learn the parry timings. Backstabs should be the counter, but as said most of the game is set in corridors that are too tight for you to usually get around behind enemies. Magic is pretty lame, with only Pyromancy having a few cool spells. Melee has a few fun weapons, but most lack anything fantasy about them. Bosses change a lot of the rules from most other mobs, so it goes from a game about slowly picking apart groups into a totally different challenge of reaction speed and timing.
The easiest way to play is to just pump Vigor and Endurance and tank everything. Damage really doesn't improve that much with leveling attacking stats compared to weapon upgrades on their own. So you might as well just put everything into survivability.
