If you're genuinely modding to make the game easier, just watch it on YouTube. Games that don't come with difficulty options should be played as intended. Not every game has to be made for you and your abilities.

Souls games were made with certain difficulty in mind. I wouldn't mind a mod or even a feature that gives you certain weapons on subsequent playthroughs.

Did they? My understanding was always that systems collision detection were tied to a certain framecap and if you uncapped it the game would just shit itself and sporadically send the player falling through the floor, so you're not cheating you're just sitting on your own balls for no real benefit. At least that's how it was back on the now-delisted original DS1 PC port, I don't know about the later games.

Its good to play the game unmodded for the first time.
Every time after that is free game snd you should play however you want. Modded, unmodded, whataver

I do not care if you mod your own game, but it is objectively true. You didn't play the same game by definition, you either used cheats or transformed the game into an entirely different gameplay experience. You cannot even talk about the gameplay with someone who played the unmodded base game because you both played entirely different games.
