No but I'm like 90% sure me laughing at a friend who always playing flavor of the month FPS games is why he stopped talking to me after uni. Like we're still in the same friend group but he just never responds to messages anymore

Playing mobas during my teen years definitely fucked up my brain. I remember being a smart open minded problem solver before a friend got me into league. By the time I graduated highschool I was a bitter jaded freak who saw everything as a win or lose situation. Yea I know it's definitely not normal for someone to respond that way to a video game but league for sure worsened my latent autism and ADHD issues.

Probably OSRS, didn't ruin my life, but using almost 10000 hours on it was an absolute mistake

Yes. I played Super Mario Bros 3 as a kid, loved it so much i've been playing games non-stop ever since chasing that high again.

FEH and Smt Dx2 respectively. If I hadn't been able to play both of those games at work I would have searched for a better job sooner.

When I was 16 I got cought playing a loli game, my parents had a conniption and I got kicked out of the house 2 months later.
Lived as a homeless for 2 weeks but thanks to some help I got a palce to crash at and slowly but surely start again, I did try to kill myself on he second day in the streets, not gonna get into specifics because it did become news and you degenerates could find who I am.
Now as an adult I married a much younger girl and we have a 3yo child, shit is wild, life isn't perfect but it could be worse.

Anytime I think video games "ruined" my life, I remind myself there was literally nothing better to do or worth doing in clown world especially as a teenager. Going to the gym would have done nothing since girls have impossible standards now, going to school would have done worse than nothing because of debt and unemployment, getting another hobby would probably be a more expensive waste of time than vidya, going outside and making friends would have done nothing because everyone is a psychotic one dimensional NPC who would have found a way to fuck me over. Getting a gf/wife likely would have resulted in me being in debt for decades raising another man's child.
There's simply nothing worth doing in modern society
In that lens, vidya is simply the least worst option for coping.

Socializing as a teenager, even if its with other nerds about videogames is worthwhile. You evolve and change your mindsets together as everyone branches out. Could also meet a girl during this time before social media rots their brains.

Otherwise I agree. Suburban life is shit and ruins childrens brains without things to do, work or otherwise.

School (if you can get a job after) is also worthwhile but I'd tell people to just go to community college these days desu.

Other hobbies help break up the day and make you less depressed, but do take money and time.

If you throw someone with no life experience to the wolves you're basically committing passive murder.

The good parents act as a support network while the child slowly becomes more and more independent. By 25 you shouldn't have to do much of anything for your kid if you're lucky enough to have them be mentally/physically healthy enough to cope with the stresses of modern life.
