Because the game is anti-fun in too many ways, even moreso than the original game. Only the biggest drones can possibly defend some of the absolute trash that is spewed at you later on.

People complaining that it's too hard

>Too much HP on enemies
>Division between currencies makes it feel like you have too many shards and not enough rosaries, making farming a necessity

>Tool system is too restrictive
I don't agree with any of the above but the currencies, paying for benches and travel stations feels bad

Because it isn't easy slop aimed at non-gamers and discourse faggots the way parryslop 33 was. If team cherry had added an easy mode and cutscenes full of soap opera faggotry and obnoxious music that tells NPCs to cry and record themselves and post their reactions to twitter and youtube, the reviews would be overwhelmingly positive and people who've never played a video game before in their life, esp metroidvanias, would be calling it the greatest metroidvania ever made. That and the chinks that are complaining about the localization.

The combat can't justify the difficulty.
It's the same game as HK but worse. No one will complain about having to kill enemies if the combat was fun.
On top of that you realise that ll rewards you get for exploring will be trash.

This is true. Some bosses take waay too long to kill for no reason, the contrusct(? thing with 4 arms that appears after getting the cape only has 2 easily predictable attacks and you're hitting it for 5 full minutes.

The crest/tool system is worse than what the first game had.
You don't even have interactions between different tools like how it worked with charms, it would have taken exactly 20 minutes to come up with 10 interactions even if they are mostly gimmick.

my hope is that only the first half was hardcore like that in order to train the player to be better, and then the second half will be smooth sailing by finally having upgrades but also because of the skill gained by beating the first part. i DO want some comfy citadel exploration and i hope they will give it to me.

This is the first time I am seeing a game that had a good reception not significantly increasing concurrent players during the first weekend. Is the difficult filtering so many?

I hate how boring dogshit design like HP bloat is now construed as difficulty. Do something enough times and you'll eventually fuck up despite knowing what you're supposed to do, that's why some people hate souls slop
