Loved it, just wish the lore was better laid out and some characters explored more. The bishops for example have literally no appearance other than their boss fight.

The road sign if you're going for a STR build. Not only does it scale with STR better than anything else in the game but it also has a great skill you can spam

Depends on build:
>Str
Scrap lance, corrupted blader greatsword and road sign
>Technique
Katanas, Holy Embrace, corrupted blader dualswords
>Spirit
Holy Spirit

At least they made good use of the spotlight during the boss. I thought Violent Delights was the best track in the OST too.

Anybody tried the new difficulty mode, is it enough to provide a challenge? I loved basically every aspect of this game except how ridiculously easy it was.

I was able to beat the game with the *serrated halberd*, although I was running *stygian claws* (persephone weapon) as my secondary weapon at the end too.

For non-church/non-holy bosses, the *thunder lance* or whatever from the cleansing knight is amazing since it will put your weapon damage above the halberd or road sign when you use it's weapon art (thunder cascade, aka thunder buff). Doesn't do as well against church bosses because of their thunder defense ofc

For church bosses and most enemies too, I use my two weapons and either the five rays spell (persephone. Hits like a truck) or the darkness orb spell (hits like a truck too)

it was okay. I don't really like souls likes that much but I bought it because the protagonist is cute. Could have been a worse game. I did the same thing for Wuchang but didn't get around to playing it before they did the big 1.5 changes and lost all motivation to play it
Also, cute butt

Too easy to just stunlock everything by spamming heavy attacks with the default weapons, the game is kind of dumb
Still not too bad considering how shit the average non-FromSoftware soulslike is, I played Lords of the Fallen (the new one) recently and that was absolute dogshit

I'm playing it right now.
I like that the difficulty stems more from how dirty the level design can get, like the underground city where you have to jump and walk on very thin platforms while getting shot at.

I'd say it's also the best implementation of magic in any souls game, it truly feels seamless and I naturally gravitated towards a STR/spirit build without aiming for it at first. I never specialize in magic in soulslike but here it's just so natural. They've done well.
I don't know how the story ends but so far it's pretty intriguing, the art direction is thematically consistent while being varied enough and there is a pretty good sense of mystery surrounding the world.

I just unlocked the last Frame ability

Couldn't be me. Both are great, though often for different reasons. The only reason they get compared is "anime style" character design and prominent white-haired heroines.

Yeah, I play soulslikes for dungeon crawling rather than bosses and for me this game was great. If you're into bosses you'd get nothing out of it though

Didnt like it at all. Beat 3 bosses and quit. The world, enemies and boss designs are so boring looking. Forgettable generic music, protagonist looks and talks like a dumbass, customization is weak, combat movesets are boring. I didnt like anything about it.

I am unironically having more fun with Bleak Faith and I still wouldnt recommend this game because its pure euro jank. The aesthetics and vibes just appeal to me a lot but its like a 6/10.

I don't think I've ever played a soulslike where that wasn't true. If you're using a STR build you're going to stunlock motherfuckers
Bosses do suck but I don't see how parry is a cheese

I choose to ignore the parry and focus on tech weapons, which have much less stunlock
I do agree the enemies need more poise, strength is easy mode
I think a simple increase in sync consumption for the parry would balance it well, they might've already done that in hard-mode but I haven't tried it yet

Code vein combat feels like an absolute ass. This game has a pretty decent feeling of combat.
It's as simple as that. An action game must have enjoyable moment to moment gameplay first and foremost, if that's not present, nothing else can salvage it.

wait is parrying actually easy in AI limit? or is it some Sekiro-tier of bullshit timings / Soulsgames where you have to calculate frames and split-second nonsense?
i never parry in ANY game except for Stellar Blade which made parrying much easier and satisfying.

Anonymous No.719998219
>>719997952
Everyone always says its easy but I always got hit by some enemies. The timing is more forgiving than other games because of how fast it comes out but it's not as easy as Sekiro
Anonymous No.719998227
>>719997832
The biggest problem with the parry is that it is entirely free and easy to use to boot, even after the patches. It should be a really minuscule window that only works on specific attacks and you should need to use a lot of resources for a risky mechanic that gives higher rewards than dodging if you pull it off. Instead it completely stops the enemy's actions entirely and rewards the player at the same time, for an action that is equally as "difficult" as just dodging normally.

If you're going to make every attack able to be parried then you have to design your entire combat system around it like Wo Long, that's why personally I just played with the basic dodge most of the time.
Anonymous No.719998272
>>719997952
Not really. AI Limit parrying is predictive, like other Soulslikes. Stellar Blade is an action game with the more immediately intuitive system of reactive parrying.
In its case, it's actually the Perfect Dodges you need to input a bit earlier, making them closer to AI Limit's parries if anything.
Anonymous No.719998425
>>719997952
Def not as easy as in sekiro.
I'd say it's more of ds1 and (so far) animations are what you expect them to be.
