I'm playing through both games with my brother again now, and L4D2 has some fucking amazing levels with cool gimmicks that keep things fresh, but I'm starting to really miss the dark and creepy atmosphere of the first game.

The impossible achievements
I don't have all gold medals in survival either but I think I will eventually get that

i think the first game did a lot of things better. weapons feel better and more punchy, enemies feel better to shoot, there are less enemies but they all feel more meaningful in engagements, the artstyles better, the music is better, the events feel more solid and less like memes. l4d2 feels like a meme. haha the zombie jerks off and you can see this zombies butt. wuhoh, jockey! get it he rides you like a horse. i am finding things to whine about but i still like the characters a lot in 2 and its fun, but i really wish every time i asked my friends to play l4d1 they didn't immediately say 'but 2 has all of l4d1's levels!'

L4D1 levels are much better designed. L4D2 are much more open usually to the detriment of the gameplay

I wish L4D2 had gotten another year or two in the oven, instead of being rushed out just to prove a point.
