The thing is that it is not abnormal, these desires exist in a huge proportion of men, the fact that they don't consciously acknowledge them nor act on them doesn't change this, it just shows how this behavior has been weeded out by society, as it is in human nature to shame and even hurt itself into falling in line with his peers.
What people don't understand about pedophilia and child molesters is that for most it's not a "yes or no" thing, it's more situational than anything else. That's why most child molesters don't fit the academic definition for pedophile, because a lot of them are/were just regular heterosexual men who saw their niece/daughter/whatever half naked in bed one day, and suddenly their brain saw that "hey that butt kinda looks like butt, and we like butts, time to get horny".
This is how we men operate a lot of times, like we can have certain standards for what we find attractive and whatnot but just like we can fuck fatties or uggos we will fuck anything that's "female enough" depending on how we feel at the moment, and children sure are prettier than just female enough. And this is why I argue all men are attracted to them, not because they are all pedophiles who primarily desire children but because male sexuality is so open that even children can hit the right buttons, as they are still female human beings that can be good looking with female body parts that are similar to the body parts we are already attracted to.
