Literally 95% of all games in every era are shit. The only things people remember from each era were the few good games and not the massive amounts of shit from each era. This is why I cannot take nostalgia fags seriously.

When you think about it, and this will be extremely unpopular here, we get more good games per year than the past average. Sure there were some years filled with good games, but on average you had a lot of years with nothing good.
This year we got e33, blue Prince, death stranding 2, split fiction, silksong, a lot of smaller niche jrpgs, cronos, silent hill f, wuchang, new doom, and more im forgetting
I'm not sayjng these are all excellent but its a very good year

But since games take so long to make now, there was -- by sheer numerical quantity -- way more kino back then

1995 - 2000 PS1 and N64 era had kino after kino after kino

Resident Evil 1 through 3 were all released in such a short timespan

Final Fantasy 7 through 9 were all released in such a short timespan
