Was it a good farewell to the GameCube?

This was intended to be a Wii game, it just happened to also get a Gamecube release.

It started development as a Gamecube game and was decided partway through to be held back for a Wii release. The game could've come out on Gamecube like a year earlier, that build was finished and shelved so Wii could have a launch title.

It was backwards, it was ported to the Wii as a marketing tactic. In fact, the Gamecube version is completely mirrored to the Wii version.

Either way, the game feels much more 7th genny than WW.

It's mirrored because that was the fastest way to implement a right-handed Link, what with the motion controls and all.

Wii in general doesn't feel like a 7th gen console and I don't mean that as a slight. But sure, TP is probably the most Zelda has focused on cinematic and narrative direction. SS tried to double down and WW's first half was the series' real step into this direction in the first place but whatever, TP is what it is.

To witness the collective degeneration of culture and taste in real time.
