For real though if your PC is that potato, turn on FSR and turn the 3D resolution scale to 99

The real issue with this game is genuinely the people in charge of it.
Prioritizing shareholders and ignoring consumer feedback is something only an old and incompetent person who should not hold their position would do. I get Squeenix is a company, and like all companies they are profit-oriented, but alienating your entire consumer-base away seems like a pretty stupid way to go about it, doesn't it?
I've never really modded XIV, but I used to play it for the raiding and group content. My favorite was Bozja with the Savage Dungeon and all the unique shit you could do with it before the Tranny Cabal took it over for clears.
We're not gonna get that back it seems.
I wish I could tell you the game will recover in the future with 8.0 but it obviously won't. It's only downhill from here. And I wish I was trolling.

My framerate was awful until I changed it from 120FPS to unlimited and then it was good

Came back for the free login and was very disappointed
Didn't notice any graphics changes, but I guess it has been a couple years
Just tried to fish for the 6.5x fish I didn't have
But running around Limsa/etc. was grim. I know JP players (and asians in general) have shit taste, but the amount of streetwear, modern uwu knit hat shit, and neon sci fi glams I saw was horrid
And then I further shit my pants at MNK becoming just press glowing button, GNB not needing to care about charges, and BLM being what it is now

go back to some of the stormblood areas or equip gear from that era and compare it to the clothing, gear and environment design of dawntrail, it's a seamless transition until you're actually directly comparing the two side by side and then you'll REALLY notice
