Unironically, if that's how they insisted on designing the game, the Kingdom Hearts battle system would have been better than static TBC.

Honestly I agree, but E33 did a pretty good job modernising it by adding actual real time gameplay. I'd never play a pure turn based game, but I loved E33, and I mean the actual gameplay, not just story.

If I understand right, you can set the attack QTEs to auto success, but you still have to manually perform the jump and parry inputs? That seems like a good compromise.
