Arguably, the Japanese are doing a better job of preserving our culture and its underlying values than modern Western culture is, since they copied our culture extensively and don't innovate much. Culture is a living organism and it's not clear that retvrning to our old art will preserve it in a way that is meaningful. Anime may promote some degenerate themes but it also promotes many virtues lacking in Western society, and it's not hard to avoid the coomer shit.
