I knew jackshit about wukong before this so I really loved the animated cutscenes in between each chapter, and how it changed styles from each one
and fucking hell, pic rel was so god damn badass, best OST in the game which for some reason was partly hidden behind optional mid combat cutscenes, but HES SO WEAK, why the hell did they program him to just stand there and pose on you for 30 secs while you just wail on him, at least buff his hp to hell if he's doing that shit, I fucking raped him first few goes but he deserved to be as hard as erlang god dammit, just make him more aggressive, I'd love a mod that actually makes the yaksha king fight like the demon he looks like, no pauses
it'd be the only time I'd appreciate a near ceaselessly attacking boss ala elden ring, since in wukong you dont have to just stand there and pray that it ends

it was great
i want to replay it, but i upgraded my monitor and now i get way too little fps unless i set graphics super low which i don't want to do, so i'll wait with new playthrough until i upgrade my PC
it was very fun game, i reall enjoyed it, but some bosses were too easy, like, some of them you beat on your first try without much effort, this is pretty much my only complaint, and maybe act 3 being way too long and invisible walls being annoying as fuck
most bosses were fun to fight, visuals and audio are great, cutscenes are awesome and i enjoyed the story despite not understanding some of the things. journal in this game is awesome, i liked reading about all those enemies and characters and having learning something about chinese mythology

it's a shame that you practically can't discuss this game without some retarded faggot coming and saying you are chinese shill or some other idiotic shit

Wukong is underrated. Game just gets better and better as it goes. Got me into JTTW and the chapter ending cutscenes are some of the best cutscenes in gaming. Fantastic satisfying action.

It's an incredibly overrated game that doesn't deserve GOTY. 7/10. Combat is fun but way too basic for how long the game is so it gets repetitive halfway through and the exploration is genuinely fucking awful and practically ruins the experience to the point that I had to drop the game for months before picking it up again as I just couldn't be fucked progressing any more.

I liked it, it is genuinely fun to play for what it's worth. But i think we're about to see it become rendered completely indistinguishable regarding how a lot of Chinese AAA games coming all look absolutely the same, i think I'm starting to see what's going on with that country. Wonder how many assets were hand made? i don't believe China got that good at triple A and being able to make high quality environments. It's likely all store bought.

If you can ignore the fact that wumaos shilled it here, there's still fun to be had. It's just a matter of whether if you think it stands out from the crowd. I don't like many souls-likes but i somehow managed to get into it.

I thought the combat was great, and I was still unlocking upgrades by chapter 5. I also thought the exploration was pretty decent for a linear game, with unlocking the secret areas and stuff. The only part I got a bit burnt out on was chapter 3 since it was so long and the constant snow is a bit tiring.

It's okay, I played through it once and won't play it again but don't feel like I wasted my money or anything. It was pretty button mashey and the shadow clone jutsu is cheesy. I wish it leaned more into the souls like aspects. Its also FULL of invisible walls but the game looks great visually.

I lost interest in the upgrades when I kind of realised that most of them were trash and there isn't really any need to spec into different builds beyond just finding one that works since there's never any real reason to use the difference stances.

There's no 'need' in the first new game since it's pretty easy but they definitely have uses. There's no way for Smash stance to use instant heavies AFAIK but the thrust stance final upgrade let's you use an instant 4 focus heavy which is definitely useful. Rock Solid let's you do the same for pillar stance.

I installed it in April and finished it a few days ago. Honestly, one of the best-built games I've played in a long time. I think if I had read the Journey to the West book, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. The animations at the end of each chapter were very nice and enjoyable. The gameplay and bosses were very good, not at the level of Ninja Gaiden or Bayonetta, but above average. Each level had new enemies and structures to see. I liked how the game's secrets were implemented, and I really enjoyed the difficulty because it was neither too difficult nor too easy. If you want something difficult, there's Erlang Ubisoft would never make a game with so much love Astro Bot shouldn't have come close to winning the game of the year.

I like it, but there were some things that could have been better, and the last chapter was really awkward minus the last boss.
