Do (You) use fake resolution or fake frames?

This. Games today are so poorly made that having a machine guess what something is suppose to look like is literally the only answer.

In some UE5 you're forced to use it or the game will run like absolute shit with the best rig. Defeats the whole point of high fidelity graphics when rampant ghosting ruins the experience.

Nope, but I got a 4080S for 1080p so I'd get enough native performance.

15 year old games at 1080p 60fps on a 5090 mind you

No, I play at native 2K with a rx 9070. What's the in wasting that much money on a GPU that can't do native 4K.

Is this a Mass Effect 3 End cutscene joke where they're both the same thing with a differently colored filter put over them? That was my first impression based on the image.

lol no

UE5 ghosting isn't the result of upscaling, it's the result of lumen.
Anonymous No.720033669 [Report] >>720033730
>>720033614
it's both, TAA or DLSS is also known to cause a lot of ghosting

No. I stick with 1080p 60hz because you DONT need more.
Anonymous No.720033730 [Report] >>720033843
>>720033669
No, lumen will have ghosting no matter the AA/upscaling options you use. Even if you disable TAA.

fuck do you mean no? have you ever played a video game? ghosting is a very common side effect of TAA or DLSS, or did your illiterate mind miss the part where I said lumen also causes ghosting?

I say UE5 ghosting is mainly related to lumen, you retard.

FSR4 and DLSS4 and late DLSS 2/3 actually handle motion pretty well, what you mainly see are lumen issues.
Anonymous No.720033985 [Report] >>720034116
>>720033958
so the latter then, you are illiterate
Anonymous No.720034116 [Report]
>>720033985
You blame upscaling, when upscaling improved a lot that it's becoming negligible on PC, unless you use FSR2/3, TSR or old versions of DLSS.

UE5 is infamous for ghosting now, specifically because of lumen.

Fake resolution yes. Fake frames always look like dog shit unless the base frame rate is already over 60, which defeats the purpose.
Anonymous No.720038115 [Report]
I use fake frames when I'm "almost" at my goal. Like if I'm in the late 90s wanting 120 I use it. Never use fake resolution, looks blurry and weird.

Not even once. That being said I also avoid Unreal Stutter 5 games, despite having a decent setup (9800X3D + 7900 XTX)

Smart people buy current top GPU that is not overpriced (right now it is an AMD one) and play games from 5-10 years ago at ultra high res and FPS.
You do not lose anything playing old SP games from then now.
Morons waste money on overpriced GPUs and play unoptimized "current game" with shit performance and fake frames, fake resolution and themselves fake that they are happy for it.
Anonymous No.720040717 [Report]
>>720033048
Same, but some games I still need to use FSR4 to get more than 60fps at high settings
Anonymous No.720041617 [Report]
>>720030115 (OP)
DLSS quality in some cases actually improves image quality with free AA (when there's a disable sharpening option which the nvidia app makes easier now) and I find fake frames good when I'm already getting more than 110 frames to fill out my monitor's refresh rate, I don't feel the latency.
